Refund Policy

Last updated: Applies to EduShine Digital Store

You must decide this one — we have not decided it for you

A refund policy is a promise to your customers, so this page deliberately does not state a policy on your behalf. Section 2 offers three common approaches: pick one, delete the other two, and adjust the wording to match what you will actually honour.

Whatever you choose, statutory consumer rights still apply on top of it — see section 3, which matters a great deal if you sell to the UK or EU. Have a qualified professional review this before you publish it.

1. In short

Everything we sell is a digital download. Because a downloaded file cannot be returned the way a physical item can, refunds on digital products work differently from refunds in a normal shop.

This page explains when we will refund you, when we will not, and how to ask. If something has gone wrong with a purchase, email YOUR_SUPPORT_EMAIL — we would much rather fix a problem than leave you with a product that does not work.

2. Our refund policy

CHOOSE ONE OF THE THREE OPTIONS BELOW, DELETE THE OTHER TWO, AND EDIT THE WORDING TO MATCH WHAT YOU WILL ACTUALLY DO.

Option A — refunds for problems only

We refund faulty, wrongly described or undeliverable products

Because our products are delivered instantly and cannot be returned, we do not offer refunds simply because you changed your mind. We will refund you in full if:

  • the file is corrupt, incomplete, or will not open in the format described;
  • the product is materially different from its description on the product page;
  • you were charged more than once for the same product;
  • we cannot get a working download to you.

This is why every product page states exactly what is included, the file formats, and who the product is and is not for — please read it before buying, and email us if anything is unclear.

Option B — time-limited money-back

14 / 30-day money-back guarantee

If you are not satisfied with your purchase, email us within 14 / 30 days of buying and we will refund you in full. STATE WHETHER YOU ASK FOR A REASON, AND WHETHER THE CUSTOMER MUST DELETE THEIR COPY.

STATE ANY LIMITS — for example one refund per customer, or refunds not available on bundles. Only promise this if you will honour it without argument; a guarantee you resist paying out on costs more in chargebacks and reputation than it earns.

Option C — no refunds except where legally required

All sales are final

Because our products are digital and delivered immediately, all sales are final and we do not offer refunds, except where we are required to by law or where the product is faulty or not as described.

Be careful with this option. In many countries a blanket “no refunds” statement is unenforceable against consumers, and some payment providers and marketplaces will not accept it. It also tends to increase chargebacks. Section 3 still applies whatever this section says.

3. Your statutory rights always apply

Nothing in this policy removes rights you have under the consumer law of the country you live in. Where our policy is more generous than the law, our policy applies. Where the law gives you more, the law applies.

If you are in the UK or the EU

Consumers generally have 14 days to cancel an online purchase. For digital content downloaded immediately, that right can be lost — but only if, before the download starts, the customer:

  1. expressly consents to the content being supplied immediately, and
  2. acknowledges that they lose the right to cancel by doing so.

In practice that means a tick-box or equivalent confirmation at checkout, plus a record that it happened. If you do not collect that confirmation, the 14-day cancellation right generally survives and you may have to refund a customer who simply changed their mind.

Action: check whether your payment provider offers this consent step at checkout and turn it on if you sell to UK or EU customers. DESCRIBE HERE HOW YOU COLLECT IT, OR DELETE THIS BOX IF YOU DO NOT SELL TO THOSE CUSTOMERS.

Separately, and regardless of cancellation rights, digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If it is not, you are entitled to a repair, replacement or refund.

If you are elsewhere

Consumer law in YOUR COUNTRY and in your own country may give you rights beyond this policy — for example Australian Consumer Law guarantees, or state law in the United States. Those rights are unaffected by anything written here.

4. How to request a refund

  1. Email YOUR_SUPPORT_EMAIL from the address you used at checkout.
  2. Include your order reference (it is on the receipt from our payment provider) and the product name.
  3. Tell us briefly what the problem is. If a file will not open, telling us the device, operating system and app you tried usually lets us fix it faster than a refund would.

We aim to respond within RESPONSE TIME — e.g. 2 working days.

5. How refunds are paid

  • Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method through Razorpay. We cannot refund to a different card or account.
  • Once we approve a refund, it is normally issued within e.g. 3 working days. How long it then takes to appear on your statement depends on your bank or card issuer, and is usually e.g. 5–10 working days.
  • Where a refund is issued, your licence to use the product ends and you should delete your copies.
  • STATE WHETHER YOU REFUND ANY TRANSACTION FEE OR CURRENCY CONVERSION CHARGE — usually your provider's fee is not returned to you, and bank conversion charges are outside your control.

6. Situations we cannot refund

Subject to your statutory rights, we cannot normally refund where:

  • you bought the wrong product by mistake but have already downloaded it — although we will usually swap it for the one you meant, so ask;
  • the product works as described and the reason is that it was not what you hoped — the “who this is not for” section on each product page exists to prevent this;
  • you cannot open a file because you do not have software the product page said you would need;
  • the request relates to a product shared with you by someone else rather than bought by you;
  • we have evidence of redistribution or other breach of the product licence.

7. Chargebacks

If you believe a charge is wrong, please contact us before asking your bank to reverse it. A chargeback takes weeks and is resolved by your bank rather than by us; an email usually takes a day.

We keep order records so that a genuine duplicate or unauthorised charge can be found and refunded quickly.
